Dear Karen, as I look at the photographs of you & Mike together here, I smile and my heart warms. Mike was such a great guy, so kind, and that shared quality made the two of you so good together. Mike was very dear to me, he grew to be almost as dear to me as you are, my friend. He will be missed very much. Putnam Gang gatherings will not be the same without him. I thank him for his friendship. I also thank him for his service to me and to our country. Although the world has lost a wonderful person, Heaven has gained one great soul! You and your family have my heartfelt sympathy and remain in my thoughts & prayers. As I close with my condolences, I leave you with lyrics of Seasons of Love by Jonathan Larson from Rent...
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
Five hundred twenty-five thousand moments so dear
Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure, measure a year?
In daylights, in sunsets
In midnights, in cups of coffee
In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife
In five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes
How do you measure, a year in the life?
How about love?
How about love?
How about love?
Measure in love
