Angelo was born to his father Gen. Gribaldo Miño-Tapia and mother Angela in Ecuador. He married the love of his life Maria Eugenia Miño Vega and they later relocated the family to the United States, ultimately ending up in Lenexa, Kansas. Together they raised three daughters whom he leaves as his legacy: Grace Gettino (Andre), Doris Hiatt (Kevin), Ivette Powers (Alex). Angelo was also an extremely proud Grandfather “ Papo” to five Granddaughters, his princesses: Enaam (Jeff), Hanna, Emily, Savannah, and Ashlyn.
His family remembers him as patriot, a mentor to many, a devoted Catholic, a true family man, and a proud Freemason. Angelo was always ready to help anyone in need and can be best remembered for his iconic bowties and the frequently used, “Born in Ecuador, Made in America”.
Angelo was an Executive Director for EARP Distribution Inc. and was passionate about affecting the most positive change in people in both his professional and personal life. Helping kids was one of his biggest passions and he showed that by being ‘Billy the bullwhacker’ and Mr. Wise, one of the school programs he created. Angelo was a 32nd Degree Freemason but had many affiliations in various groups; Some of which include: Past Master of Lenexa Masonic Lodge No. 35, as well as Junior Deacon at Gardner Masonic Lodge No. 65, and a member of Overland Park Masonic Lodge No. 436. One of the most unique people I ever met. Angelo was such a positive force in the world. When we interviewed him to work with us. I thought he was too good to be true. After checking his history, I couldn't believe it but it was all true. What an incredible life. Very inspiring person. He will be missed.
