Judith Adelia  Uzzell
Judith Adelia Uzzell, 77, of Spring Hill, KS passed away February 25, 2018 at her home. Memorial service will be 10:00 am Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S Webster, Spring Hill, KS 66083 913-592-2244. Inurnment following at Hillsdale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Spring Hill United Methodist Church. Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome.com

Judith was born February 4, 1941 in Atchison, KS to Lester Arnold and Frances Lee (Wells) Henley. She grew up in Spring Hill, graduating from high school in 1959. Judith went on to attend St. Mary’s Nursing College. She married William “Bill” Daniel Uzzell on October 23, 1960 in Spring Hill, KS. After getting married, she went to work as a telephone operator. They moved to Chanute in 1969, where she worked for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator and was a supervisor. Judith and Bill moved back to Spring Hill in 1980; she then became the family caregiver. She was a member of the Spring Hill United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Spring Hill American Legion Auxiliary. Judith taught Sunday School and loved animals, rescuing many strays throughout the years. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Tom Henley. She is survived by her husband, Bill of the home; sons: Richard “Rick” Daniel and Dawn Uzzell of Osawatomie, KS and David Arnold and Penny Uzzell of Spring Hill, KS; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and brother, Jim Henley of Morgan Hill, CA.
