She married the love of her life, Dale F. Sawyer, on April 2, 1941 in Harrisonville, MO. They were blessed with 74 wonderful years of marriage. Hildred was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and neighbor. In her later years, she served as secretary on Gardner Township Cemetery Board. Hildred and Dale were members of the First Presbyterian Church in Gardner.

Hildred was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Dale and siblings: Sidney Hittle, Mary Sullivan, Irene Christopher and Jim Hittle. She is survived by her three children: Dale Sawyer, Jr. (Judy), Diana Lefmann (Gerald) and Kaye Baty (Jim); five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter and sister-in-law, Nadine Larrick.

The family would like to thank the Medicalodges of Eudora and the Visiting Nursing Association for the love and care they had for Hildred and Dale.
