Obituary for Katherine Louise Reynolds

Katherine Louise Reynolds
Katherine went to her heavenly home on January, 10, 2018. Funeral will be 1:00 pm Friday, January 19, 2018 at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Center, Gardner, KS 913-856-7111. Burial will follow at Gardner Cemetery, Gardner, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Katherine was born February 4, 1926 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Walter and Isal Bradford. She grew up in Pond Creek, Oklahoma. Katherine married Thomas Ray Reynolds on May 13, 1945 in Nash, Oklahoma. They moved to Kansas City, Kansas in 1947, where they lived until moving to Gardner, Kansas 14 years ago. Katherine was a homemaker and worked for a brief time for Edison’s Florist in Kansas City, Kansas. She loved flowers and always enjoyed working in her flower beds. She loved playing the marimba. Many times she shared her talent with nursing homes and her church during their Young at Heart lunches. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Her happy smile and loving ways will be missed by her family and friends. She had a sweet and gentle soul and was so giving to her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2010; son-in-law, Tom Richards; granddaughter, Cindy Richards; brother, Bruce Bradford and great granddaughter, Ali Richards. Katherine is survived by her daughter, Raylene Richards of Gardner and son, Larry Reynolds (Theresa) of Canada; brother, Bill Bradford of Pond Creek, Oklahoma; sister, Helen Johnson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; six grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Hospital for their compassion and care during Katherine’s illness.
