Craig Douglas Linden, 62, of Linwood, Kansas passed away peacefully January 7th, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family and friends. Visitation will be Friday, January 12th, 2018 from 6:00-9:00 P.M. and funeral services are Saturday, January 13th, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. with graveside service following. Both services are at the De Soto Baptist Church, 8655 Copeland Way, De Soto, Kansas 66018. There will be a gathering following the graveside service at the Silver Wheel in De Soto for Craig’s celebration of life. Craig was born on March 9th, 1955 in Lawrence, Kansas to George Robert “Bob” Linden and Lydian Sarah “Boots” (Fleming) Linden. He grew up in De Soto, Kansas and was a lifelong resident of De Soto and Linwood, Kansas. Craig graduated De Soto High School in 1974. He was a 40-year member of Operating Engineers Local 101 and worked as a crane and heavy equipment operator for 24 years with Kissick Construction.
His passion in life was his wife and the apple of his eye, his daughter. His other biggest enjoyments were riding his motorcycle, watching Haleigh play softball for many years, enjoying time at the lake and tinkering in his barn.
Craig was preceded in death by his father, George Robert “Bob” Linden. He is survived by his wife and companion of 37 years, Cheryl (Thompson) Linden; daughter, Haleigh Linden and fiancé Tyler Grammer of Basehor Kansas; mother, Lydian Sarah “Boots” Linden of De Soto, Kansas; sister, Deborah and LE Keuker of De Soto, Kansas; father and mother in law, Troy and JoAnn Thompson of De Soto, Kansas; sister in law, Pam and Kim Starling of Liberty, Missouri; brother in law, Bill Thompson and fiancé Michele Demaranville of De Soto, Kansas; and his beloved nieces and nephews;
aunts and uncles; and cousins; and many loving friends.
