Virginia Jean Boone, 88, of Olathe, KS, formerly of Gardner, passed away Oct. 22, 2017 at Avonlea Cottages, Olathe. Cremation with Graveside Services at a later date in Tabor Cemetery, Tabor, IA. Virginia was born April 12, 1929 in Union, NE to Leslie “Les” George and Dorothy Elizabeth (Crawford) Everett. She grew up in Union, NE and later moved to Tabor, IA, Nebraska City and Marysville, KS. She married J. Ivan Boone on Dec. 2, 1953 in Nebraska City, NE. They moved to Gardner in 2008 to be near family. She was a waitress at Grandview One Stop and an aide at a nursing home. Virginia enjoyed embroidery, puzzle books and spending time with her grandbabies who were her No. 1 priority. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Bud McCollum; son, James McCollum; son-in-law, Gerald Craven; two infant brothers and brother, Jimmy Everett. Virginia is survived by her husband, Ivan, of the home; children: Deborah Craven, Blue Springs, MO, Leslie Boone, Jefferson City, MO and Kathy Jo and husband Larry Mann, Golden, MO; sister, Ruby Mae Baumgart, Grass Valley, CA; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
