Karen Crews
Karen Ann Neal Crews, 41, passed away September 4, 2017 at St. Joseph Medical Center, KCMO. Visitation will be Friday, September 8th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS 913-856-7111. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Funeral Home. Cremation. Memorial contributions may be made to Bruce Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses. Karen was born in Olathe, KS on January 1, 1976 to Joetta Lynn (Shafer) and Johnnie Ray Neal. Karen was the first baby born in the state of Kansas in the Bicentennial year. Karen grew up in Edgerton. She was a 1994 graduate of Gardner Edgerton High School and received her Associate of Arts degree. After she married, she lived in Independence, MO but moved back to Gardner in 2011. She was a cashier for Minit Mart in east Olathe for 5 years. Karen was a huge people person and loved to interact with everyone she came in contact with. She loved playing cards, especially “SkipBo” and enjoyed fishing with her family. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her father (2016). Karen is survived by her husband, Michael Crews; her mother; two children: Chelsea Miller (Gannon) Spring Hill, KS and Crystal Stoker, Gardner, KS; brother, Steven Ray (Stefanie) Neal, Dubuque, IA and sister Cindy J. Reimer (Tyler), Edgerton, KS; two grandchildren: Jace and Jacob, as well as, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins
