Karl Melvin Tinsley, 70, of Prairie Village, Kansas passed away on June 7, 2017 at Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Hospital. Graveside Service with Military Honors will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Kennekuk Cemetery, 1710 100th Street, Horton, KS. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday, June 12, at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Center, Gardner, KS 66030, 913-856-7111. Karl was born on March 31, 1947 to John Melvin and Mary Ann (Christianson) Tinsley in St. Joseph, Missouri. He grew up in Everest, Kansas. He graduated in 1965 from Washington High School in Kansas City, KS. Karl was a member of the United States Army and moved to Prairie Village, KS 50 years ago. He worked 47 years as a mechanic at Anderson Racing, Inc. located in Grandview, Missouri. Racing was his passion. He will be missed by family and friends.
Karl was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ruth Tinsley. He is survived by brother, Keith (Tina) Tinsley, Gardner; nephews, Kory (Angela), Overland Park and Kyle (Sara), Gardner; nieces, Alicia (Larry) Cunningham, Farmington, N.Y. and Stacy (Brad) Hadel, Gardner; four great nieces and two great nephews.
