Obituary for Ralph Boehm
Ralph Eugene Boehm, 87, of Olathe, KS, passed away at his home on April 22, 2017. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am Friday, April 28, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 16000 W 143rd St. Olathe, KS. Burial follows at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. Visitation 6-8:00 pm Thursday, April 27, 2017 also at the church. Rosary will be said at 8:00 pm following the visitation. Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. John Paul II Catholic Church. Ralph was born October 6, 1929 in Lenexa, KS to Oliver and Rosa (Bross) Boehm. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He later attended Auctioneering School. Ralph married Mary Ryckert on November 29, 1950 in Lenexa, KS. He was a lifelong Johnson County resident and they moved to their Olathe farm in October of 1953. Ralph was a farmer all his life, he raised dairy cows and cattle and planted row crops. He was a member of the St. John Paul II Catholic Parish of Olathe, the Lenexa VFW and Johnson County Farm Bureau. Ralph was a former member of the Midwest Dairy Assoc. and past board member of the Farmer’s Union Co-Op in Spring Hill. He was the Beef Leader for Sharon’s 4-H Club and served on the Hilltop School Board. He loved watching wrestling and rodeos on TV and playing cards with family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary in 1986; brothers: Clarence and Donald “Steve” Boehm and sisters: Ethel Balke and Mabel Fry. He is survived by his children: Sharon and Jeff Giacometti of Farlington, KS and Thomas and Amy Boehm of Spring Hill, KS; three grandchildren: Evan Giacometti, Alex and Matthew Boehm; brother, Lawrence Boehm of Shawnee, KS; sister, Betty Cox of Ottawa, KS and former wife, Ina Boehm.
