Scott Hartsaw Miller, 78, of Olathe, KS passed away March 19, 2017 at his home. Visitation 2-4:00 pm Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Bruce Funeral Home, 106 S. Center, Gardner, KS 66030 913-856-7111. Cremation will follow the visitation. Memorial Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church, 138 E. Shawnee, Gardner, KS 66030. Scott was born September 11, 1938 in Pueblo, CO to Eugene P. and Nona (Frank) Miller. He grew up in Beulah, CO and graduated from Pueblo Central High School. Scott then went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Colorado State. He married Cynthia Patricia Saunier July 22, 1959 in Raton, NM. They lived in Houston, TX for 12 years. Scott started up and operated, Hartsaw Equipment Company, a Consulting Engineer Business, in 1975 and then retired in 2002. They have lived in Olathe for the last 37 years. Scott was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gardner, where he was an Elder. He was involved in International Marketing and was an avid outdoorsman. Scott was a strong supporter of the local art community and was a gifted artisan in media of wood, ceramic and metal. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by family and friends.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Chuck Miller and sister, Susanne Miller. He is survived by his wife, Cindy; sons: Corey and Lori Miller of Camarillo, CA, Forrest and Nancy Miller of Linwood, KS and Shaun and Christy Miller of Olathe, KS; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and siblings: Robert E. Miller of Conroe, TX, Doug Miller of Tuscan, AZ and Kipley Miller Copperas Cove, TX.
